Motherboard problems


Motherboard is also known as system board or logic board which holds the crucial components of the computer like CPU. It includes RAM, sound card, video card, network card, hard drives, TV tuner card, 
USB or firewire slot and so many other custom components. It also provides the connectivity to all the standard peripheral devices like keyboard, disk drive, display device etc.
Now you can understand if our computer is not working then problem may be anywhere. So it is a tough job to locate the problem. Here are some common problems of motherboard –
  • It does not show the mouse when you reboot or re-install your computer setup:  This problem occurs due to the incorrect CMOS settings. To solve this problem you have to go into CMOS settings and then there is a one item called modem use interrupt request. The default value of this item is 3, you have to change it into other value except 3.
  • New CMOS Battery: It continuously owing the motherboard under a voltage so some important settings (CMOS) could not be lost. It also maintains date and time of the computer.
  • Refrigerator not cooling (both fans running compressor off): if both the fans are running but compressor is not then there is problem with your motherboard. In this situation you have to unplug the refrigerator and remove the start relay and shake it. If your problem is not removed yet then check the solder joint of refrigerator backside of the motherboard.
  • COM port is not working: if your mother board’s COM port is not working, it usually happens due to hot plugging of your relevant hard ware. You need to firstly disable the COM port before attaching the new hardware. Sometimes you even need to disable the Integrated Device Electronics port.

OPTIONS TO OVERCOME BsD PROBLEM


Blue screen of death can occur if a serious problem causes windows to shutdown or restart unexpectedly.  This also may affect your computer setup. These error can be caused by the both hardware and software issues. It can be difficult to resolve the problem. Some  times windows got shutdown automatically to prevent your computer from unexpected problem and it will inform you by a message.

If you can start windows
  • Undo the recent changes using system restore
  • Use action center to check for solution to problem
  • Check windows update for software update
  • Search for drivers on manufacturer's website
  • Use safe mode to troubleshoot the problem


If you can’t start the windows
  • Use start up repair to fix windows start up files
  • Undo recent changes using system restore
  • Restore your computer using system image backup
  • Use safe mode to troubleshoot the problem
  • Re install windows 7
